We are accepting applications for a full time Clinical Leader in the operating room at our Hospital & Health Centre.  This is your opportunity to expand your nursing career, enhance your leadership skills and help develop those skills in others.

 

The Surgical Services Leader coordinates and facilitates day-to-day activities of the surgical services Programs to ensure effective use of resources and communication among other health care providers and conflict resolution.  As a role model and coach collaborates with Critical Care Educator to orientate staff and provides ongoing professional development to team members through education/learning plans and quality risk management activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements goals, objectives and procedures for assigned units ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient patient care services.
  • Coordinates patient flow utilizing appropriate use of beds/services in consultation and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members and the appropriate unit, department and/or outside facilities. 
  • Facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships among disciplines/departments to ensure effective patient care delivery
  • Provides input into the development of capital and operating budgets.
  • Coordinates human, fiscal and other resources needed to provide clinical practice and patient care by monitoring trends, participating in budget planning, highlighting cost pressures that will impact unit and completing required forecast documents. 


What you bring

  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Five (5) years’ recent experience in OR/PAR including completion of OR specialty course plus a minimum of two years’ recent related teaching and management experience; or an equivalent combination of training, and experience.
