Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and manage our Environmental Health and Safety functions. The EHS Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety practices and processes, including the safety and well-being of employees in our production environment, developing and implementing safety programs and procedures, identifying and accessing workplace hazards, conducting safety inspections, investigating workplace accidents. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Provide training and development programs for staff on health and safety practices
- Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing reports and recommendations for
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate safety into daily working processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification to identify potential risks and
- implement proactive solutions
- Lead the development and monitoring of safety performance indicators
- Monitor environmental conditions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Organize and schedule training for workers to ensure certifications are in date
- Support clients’ Environmental, Health and Safety audit to the plant
- Provide advice to Senior Leaders with respect to emerging trends, changes to legislation, best practices, and future environmental health and safety initiatives
Qualifications:
- University Degree in relevant field and Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- Certification in Environmental Health and Safety is considered an asset.
- Over 8 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety in a manufacturing operation and/or supply chain environment, including more than 2 years’ managerial role
- Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to enhance existing programs and develop Environmental Health and Safety programs in a manufacturing operations and/or supply chain environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation combined with advanced training in hazard recognition, assessment, and control
- Proven success in leading across functional teams as a change agent to influence the safety culture
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to deliver positive business results
