We are a leading player in mechanical contracting, and we are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team! What You’ll Do:
- Lead the estimation process for mechanical projects from concept through completion, reviewing plans, specifications, and scopes of work for accuracy and feasibility.
- Prepare detailed cost proposals, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing, ensuring all estimates align with project budgets and deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to gather necessary information and address design changes or field conditions.
- Analyze historical data, market trends, and local pricing benchmarks in the GTA area to produce competitive and profitable bids.
- Present estimates to internal teams and clients, articulating the rationale behind cost assumptions and identifying potential areas for value engineering.
- Maintain a strong understanding of construction methods and regulatory requirements specific to mechanical contracting, ensuring all estimates comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Continuously update and refine estimation processes and software tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in your work.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in Mechanical estimation with relevant industry experience
- 4+ years of relevant experience in mechanical estimating for major projects in the institutional, commercial and industrial construction industry.
- Excellent knowledge of the Canadian construction market
- Effective presentation and negotiation skills
- Advanced computer skills, knowledge of MS Office, and estimating software is an asset
- Experience in plumbing, hvac and other mechanical companies within Ontario is an asset.
- Organized, flexible, team player, and detail oriented.
- Prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands
