Sales Manager
Position Summary
The successful candidate will maintain Convoy’s high standards of integrity and service in the building materials industry. The Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and ensuring the team exceeds performance targets. Through effective leadership, the Sales Manager will mentor their team of Outside Sales Representatives towards achieving corporate objectives and reinforcing team culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of outside sales representatives to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market share and grow revenue.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholder to ensure that all orders are accurate, and issues are addressed promptly.
- Identify new business opportunities and drive new account acquisition.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to promote product knowledge and sales initiatives.
- Create and maintain data in systems and software (including Excel and Salesforce) to ensure reliable and accurate statistics for reporting purposes.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Conduct joint sales calls with team members to enhance customer engagement.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and sales processes.
- Maintain consistency in presence and availability throughout the region for both employees and customers.
- Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and community initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3-5 years in a sales management role preferably within the residential roofing, construction materials, or distributions industry.
- Ability to read and understand construction specifications, drawings, and technical data considered an asset.
- College diploma in business or related industry preferred.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools (Salesforce).
- Intermediate level Microsoft excel required.
- Strong leadership and team development skills with a track record of driving sales success.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify growth opportunities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
- Valid passport required for international travel.
