Applications Project Manager

Position Summary

The Applications Project Manager is responsible for leading ERP-related projects, including new module implementations and process standardization, across our North American distribution business units. This role requires a deep understanding of business operations, ERP systems, and change management to align local needs with the organization's core model. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, enforce best practices, and ensure the successful execution of projects while maintaining a strong relationship with end users, executives, and IT teams. This role will be based out of our Rexdale location at 180 Bethridge Road, Etobicoke, ON.

 

Responsibilities

  • Act as an ERP subject matter expert, guiding implementation and optimization initiatives.
  • Analyze and understand business processes across distribution business units.
  • Drive alignment with the organization’s core ERP model while balancing local operational needs.
  • Collaborate with key executives and stakeholders to ensure project success and adoption.
  • Lead ERP project implementations using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Conduct functional analysis to identify business needs and recommend ERP solutions.
  • Manage project progress using project management software and best practices.
  • Write, test, and manage ERP development tickets to resolve system-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ERP technical challenges.

 

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Management, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in ERP project management, business applications, or system implementations.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution industry business processes.

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in ERP systems.
  • Experience integrating ERP with MRP, TMS, and CRM systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL database management (MSSQL, MySQL, or similar).
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Windows Batch, PowerShell).
  • Hands-on experience managing ERP development, testing, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with accounting processes (AP, AR, General Ledger), sales, purchasing, and inventory management.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills with executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) for collaboration across teams.
  • Ability to drive change and influence ERP adoption.
  • Strong relationship management with end users, customers, and vendors.
  • French language proficiency is an asset.

Work Conditions

  • Primarily office/computer-based work.
  • Travel up to 50% (domestic and/or international as required).
