Project Manager / Director - Parks & Recreation

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The Director, Capital Design and Delivery is accountable for providing strategic leadership and direction for the design, development and construction Toronto's parks and recreation assets.
  • You will lead the overall management, design excellence, sustainability, construction management, and delivery of parks and recreation assets. This includes financial management, the state of good repair (SOGR) program, procurement, and strategic partnerships.
  • You will collaborate with the Director of Parks Planning and other Parks, Forestry, and Recreation Directors on the delivery of a successful and sustainable asset management and growth program.
  • As the Director, you will ensure that all work activities achieve high quality urban design, service delivery, and standards that meet community needs as well as legislative standards and compliance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function (i.e., Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Project Management).
  • Progressive senior-level management experience in planning and development including capital budgets
  • financial and project management experience.
  • A strategic leader who can inspire a team of professionals to think laterally while contributing to the direction and delivery of the Division, as key contributors of the leadership team.
