NDT Technician

We specialize in high-precision machining of nuclear pressure vessel components, helicopter masts, turbine shafts, and engine thrust links for various aerospace applications in the commercial aerospace and military aircraft category.

Our 120,000 sq. ft. facility is located on Fenmar Drive in Toronto. Our dedicated team of approximately 200 employees focus on delivering quality products to specifications on time. Our skilled team is trained on multiple machines within their discipline.  This includes:  drill & bore, CNC lathe, manual lathe, milling, turn & mill, Grinding, OD spline and thread grind, thread roll, NDT, Dimensional CMM, manual visual inspection, deburr & polish, and many more skilled specialities.

Our company meets meets NADCAP, AS9100D accreditations and certifications.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow established procedures to inspect parts in accordance with customer and source inspector requirements.
  • Prepare inspection reports of findings, indicating acceptable items, variant parts requiring corrective work, or unacceptable items requiring Quality Review action.
  • Visually inspect parts and assemblies to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Perform NDT (to be trained) work as required.
  • Using NDT Inspection methods - LPI and MPI test components to insure they meet customer requirements.
  • Examine aerospace and nuclear components using non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
  • Conduct and interpret the results of all methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) such as liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, nital etch inspection and visual testing.
  • Prepare reports on non-destructive testing (NDT) results.
  • Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products or materials.
  • Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining NDT equipment and ordering supplies
  • Assist in development of NDT technics and procedures for LPI and MPI
  • Responsible for visual and White Light inspection of aerospace and nuclear component

 

EDUCATION

  •  Grade 12 minimum
  • Post-secondary certificate in a related field preferred
  • Requires certification in non-destructive testing in accordance with regulations certification in MPI and LPI in accordance with NAS410.
  • Requires CGSB certification in LPI and MPI

 

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE

  • Must have 5+ years direct experience inspecting machine parts with tight tolerances
  • Must be able to work in Canada and a current resident of Canada
  • A good knowledge of Shop Math
  • High knowledge and experience in Magnetic Particle, nital etch inspection and Liquid Penetrant inspection
  • Read and interpret part blue prints
  • Read and interpret customer specifications
