Master / Production Scheduler

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Basic scheduling plan and upgrading it to an automated scheduling plan
  • The scheduling includes all resource planning of people
  • Prioritize productions, eliminate cues, and increase output
  • Creation and maintenance of production plan & master schedule per customer demand using ERP system
  • Keep production priorities current, complete, and accurate
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure all labor, material, and operational inputs can support the aligned schedule
  • Generate plant forecasting of load and both short term and long term available capacity
  • Identify possible constraints to the plant
  • Maintain production control reporting-monitor planned versus actual results
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed
  • Advises management of equipment and personnel that need to be scheduled
  • Liaison with sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments
  • Rectify and/or reconcile differences and inaccuracies that have to do with shipment and deliveries to customers
  • Make sure schedules are given to employees in a timely fashion and that any distortions in the company’s schedule are accounted for daily
  • Ensure that every employee involved in the production process has a clear understanding of what is required to meet the order and needs of customers
  • Maintain different reporting systems to make sure that all forms of documentation are accurate and also timely.
  • Record production progress daily
  • Participates in forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff
  • Reports directly to the Director of Operations

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is an asset
  • Or equivalent industry experience with background in planning, supply chain, inventory management and other related fields
  • Minimum of 10 years related work experience developing and operating a complex manufacturing system
  • Demonstrated ability with software programs related to scheduling and linking programs
  • Experience working in aerospace industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of AS9100 preferred
